A good crust of black to dark green Mottramite crystals coating the top surface of a piece of sandstone. Pim Hill Mine was a small copper mine briefly worked in the second half of the 19th Century when ore from here was sent to the Mottram St Andrew Mine for processing. Modern collectors now think the type locality samples of Mottramite from Mottram St Andrew actually originated from Pim Hill Mine.
